Beauty – A Key to Your Success

Beauty is one of the keys to success. I mean true beauty–the kind that shines from within.

Beautiful people are the most successful. What kind of beauty do you think of when you hear that?

First, we need to think about what “success” means to us. How do you define success?

As a Vision Coach, I have spent a lot of time thinking about what success means to me and to my clients. I’ve also heard many discussions between others about what success means to them. One thing I know for sure is that there are as many different ideas of success as there are people talking about it.

Before you can achieve success, you need to know what it means to you to be successful.

And, be cautious about the quick answer of money and fame. Years ago, I read an article by an author who had interviewed the famous and wealthy. Most of them, in some way,  had to deal with the realization that even though they’d achieved the ultimate, they were still looking for fulfillment, satisfaction and happiness. While you can set up your action items to achieve fame and fortune, happiness comes from stopping along the way and experiencing the moment.

I know you’re wondering what beauty has to do with all of that!

Earlier, I made the statements that beauty is a key to success and that beautiful people are most successful. My experience has been that successful people are beautiful from within. And, I wonder if they are successful because of their inner beauty.

What do you think of as beautiful? I think of inner sparkle, confidence, positive attitude, peaceful facial expressions, ability to connect, a smile, and a twinkle in the eye.

Outer beauty can be made up using surgery or cosmetics. Inner beauty either already exists or we can create it by practicing new positive habits, such as: attitude adjustments, gratitude journals, regular laughter, hugs, meditation, prayer, smiles, vacations, hobbies, exercise and other uplifting experiences.

When you see what I mean by beauty, you may understand it when I wonder which comes first–success or beauty.

Coach’s Challenge:

Go get that cuppa something, because I’m asking you to do some more thinking and writing. Go ahead, I can wait a few minutes while you get your cup, pen and paper.

Write down what success means to you. What does your life look like when you are successful? Describe it in detail.

Next, list at least 5 things about yourself that are beautiful–yes, even you guys out there have beautiful aspects of yourselves!

Then, describe one time in your life where the beautiful aspects of yourself helped you achieve something that mattered to you.

Now, SMILE! You’re beautiful! Pass on the smile and the beauty–they’re both contagious.
